RSPCA Training

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) has recently announced that it will again make four places available for external participants on the 2-day introductory course on oiled birds course, which will take place in February 2009.

The RSPCA has for many years regularly conducted oiled wildlife training for its inspectors, animal collection officers, and animal care staff. Although training is normally reserved exclusively for RSPCA staff, for the first time in March 2008, the RSPCA made three places available for external participants. Sea Alarm is pleased to announce that the RSPCA will again be offering the course to external participants in 2009.

The first day of the course will offer an introduction to the RSPCA and an opportunity to observe activities at an RSPCA wildlife rehabilitation centre. The second day will be a training day focussing on the collection and first aid of oiled birds during an incident.

If you would like to apply for a place on the course please complete the Application Form and return it to Coralie Farren (cfarren@rspca.org.uk) by 9th January 2009.
