New Sea Alarm Chairman
Sea Alarm is pleased to announce the appointment of Baron Leo Delwaide, as the new Chairman of the Sea Alarm Board of Directors. Baron Delwaide succeeds Mr Roelf de Boer, who in his three years as chairman was instrumental in forging strong alliances with the oil industry and in securing structural funding. Sea Alarm extends its sincere thanks to Mr. de Boer for his commitment and service.
Baron Delwaide comes to Sea Alarm with broad and extensive experience in the maritime industry. A former Judge and Professor of Maritime law and Transport law, Baron Delwaide became Deputy Mayor of Antwerp in charge of the Port of Antwerp in 1995. In 2001, Baron Delwaide assumed the role of First Deputy Mayor of Antwerp in charge of the Port of Antwerp and the Diamond community. He is currently Senior Lead Counsel for DLA Piper, president of the Board of Rent a Port and a member of the Board of Directors of Antwerp Bulk Terminal (Sea-Invest Group).
Baron Delwaide is keen to draw upon his expertise and resources in the maritime industry to further Sea Alarm”s mission within the industry and to promote the importance of oiled wildlife preparedness on a European scale.
