Sea Alarm at the BRISK seminar in Poland

Hugo Nijkamp was invited to act as the chair of a one day seminar in Poland where the first results of the Brisk project were presented. The seminar was held at Hotel Hafner in Sopot, Poland and was attended by around 30 participants from various Baltic countries. Hugo also delivered a presentation on ways of strengthening the oiled wildlife preparedness mechanism of Baltic Countries. The BRISK project has been looking at environmental sensitivities in the Baltic Sea proper in relation to the history of maritime incidents in the region and the current trend in increasing shipping traffic. The analysis has provided guidance for a substantial investment in oil combat infrastructure at sub-regional levels that will take place in the years to come. More information can be seen here.
