Oil industry recognises the need for oiled wildlife response planning

Sea Alarm has seen a growing recognition in 2011 by the oil industry of the need to take oiled wildlife response seriously and to devote it the same attention as traditional oil spill response.

Several oil industry members of Oil Spill Response, including Statoil, BP and Saudi Aramco, have approached Sea Alarm with an interest in developing their oiled wildlife preparedness, so providing a framework to support a wildlife response operation in the event of a spill from their operations. Sea Alarm is pleased to see this positive trend and will work with these companies to develop tailor-made operational wildlife response plans which give guidance to oil company personnel on the measures that they need to put into operation to support a wildlife response.
