Sea Alarm at SpillCon 2013

Saskia Sessions and Paul Kelway represented Sea Alarm at SpillCon 2013 in Australia. Mr. Kelway and Ms Sessions were able to network with industry and wildlife groups interested in oiled wildlife response both at the conference and during visits around the conference.

Ms Sessions traveled to the OSRL Singapore office, providing a lunch and learn session to update staff on Sea Alarm activities, on her way to SpillCon. OSRL is a long-term partner with Sea Alarm in providing response to oil affected wildlife.
Mr. Kelway visited Australia Seabird Rescue, the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital, Taronga Zoo and Asia Pacific Environmental Response learning more about each organisation’s work with oiled wildlife. While at SpillCon, the team met with staff from Massey University to discuss collaborative oiled wildlife response efforts.

SpillCon, one of the three major international oil spill response industry conferences, is held in the Asia Pacific Region every three years, alternating with Interspill in Europe and the International Oil Spill Conference in the United States.
