AdriaSpillcon 2013 presentation precedes POSOW training session

The week before the first POSOW ‘Train the trainer’ session (see related article), Claude Velter gave an invited presentation on the work of Sea Alarm  at AdriaSpillcon in Opatija, Croatia. He also spoke about the POSOW training programme.

AdriaSpillcon brought together representatives from governments, industry and NGOs from Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and Albania to protect this ecologically and economically valuable Adriatic portion of the Mediterranean from the impacts of oil spills.

Attendees expressed interest in the inclusion of oiled wildlife in their spill response contingency plans, some of which are in existence and some in development.
