A fresh perspective…

“Sometimes a fresh perspective renews a sense of priorities – release from pre-occupations that didn’t really matter, and fresh awareness of things that can pass us by in the confusion of the busy lives we lead”. These are the words of city lawyer Colin de la Rue on why he decided to climb eight mountains in support of eight charitable causes (Eight up campaign).

Sea Alarm is privileged to have been chosen as one of the beneficiaries and attended a fundraising event in March at the Royal Geographical Society in London where Colin gave a fascinating talk on his adventures and experiences. Colin showed some breath taking photos and video footage of his climbs, which culminated in scaling Mera La, the highest trekking peak in Nepal and with one of the best mountain views in the world across to Everest and neighbouring peaks. Sea Alarm would like express its gratitude to Collin and those who supported the evening in London. Our share of the funds raised will go towards improving European wildlife response preparedness.
