The Second Sea Alarm Conference was held in the Hague, the Netherlands, which focused on the consolidation of European co-operation. The Task Force Report was adopted and a list of priority actions was agreed upon. The decisions of the conference were incorporated into the 2001 business plan.
September 2001
Sea Alarm submitted a project proposal to the Dutch Ministry in relation to consolidation plans and support for Sea Alarm.
May 2001
Sea Alarm submitted a project proposal to the European Commission on wildlife contingency planning and cooperation in Europe.
Sea Alarm was a guest speaker at an Oil Spills Symposium, which was organised by Lloyd’s List Events, and mainly attended by industry and government organisations. Sea Alarm gave a presentation on Wildlife Response After Oil Spills.
March 2001
The third meeting of the International Alliance of Oiled Wildlife Responders was held in Tampa, Florida, USA. An intermediate board was elected and the production of a best practices document was further explored.
Sea Alarm’s Annual Board meeting was held, which focused on the Business Plan 2001.

In the aftermath of the Jessica spill, Sea Alarm Foundation sent a team of marine mammal experts to the Galapagos Islands.
