New Country Wildlife Response Profiles
Sea Alarm has completed three new Country Wildlife Response Profiles: for the USA, Greenland and Iceland.
Sea Alarm creates and maintains a database of country profiles on its website. These are developed as a preparedness tool: the advantage of knowing this information in advance is to get a picture of the wildlife response arrangements in a particular country in the event that Sea Alarm is requested to respond to an incident there. Profiles detail the legislative and operational procedures on dealing with oiled wildlife incidents, including what is the chosen strategy, who are the relevant authorities, wildlife response NGOs and other key organisations involved and what wildlife response capacity is available in country (facilities, trained personnel, volunteers, equipment etc.). A total of 83 profiles have been completed to date.
