Sea Alarm provides preparedness assistance in Ireland
In Ireland, Sea Alarm has provided support on oiled wildlife response planning to the Shannon Estuary oil spill response authority .
The oil spill response authority for the Shannon Estuary, SEA-PT, has asked Sea Alarm to develop an oiled wildlife procedure that can be attached to the overall oil spill response plan for the area. Together with Pauline Beades, who acts as the coordinator of NGO-based wildlife response preparedness in Ireland, Sea Alarm developed and delivered a procedure, which includes a sensitivity analysis by Birdwatch Ireland.
This procedure will become the basis for further strategic investments in the development of preparedness, including the training of wildlife responders and activities on multi-stakeholder involvement.
